It’s not hard to get caught up in the busyness of a fast-paced world. As we juggle responsibilities, deadlines and a constant demand to keep moving forward, we’re often left feeling stressed and overwhelmed. Achieving work/life balance sometimes feels impossible. Many of us are looking for ways to slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and find a sense of balance.

One of the most powerful yet often overlooked pathways to wellbeing and balance is through the practice of art-making. The purpose of using art for wellbeing isn’t to create a masterpiece.  But, rather, it is about the process of creation.  You don’t need to be an artist to benefit from using creative expression.  By exploring colour and texture, and simply allowing yourself to go with the flow, you are pressing the pause button on your "must do" list and giving your mind time to rest.

Why art to create work/life balance?

  • Stress Relief: Playing with colours and textures, and engaging in simple creative practices encourages relaxation and reduces stress levels.

  • Self-Discovery: Through creative exploration outside of work and daily pressures, you gain new insights into your values, strengths, and life direction.

  • Emotional Expression: Art provides a safe outlet for expressing what words sometimes can’t.  It allows us to process feelings and experiences.

  • Connection: Group workshops foster a sense of belonging and shared experience.

What to expect in my workshops

Create Work/Life Balance workshops are welcoming, supportive spaces designed for any adult in the community. Within each session you will be gently guided through creative exercises using varying art materials and provided with opportunities for connection and reflection. You will be provided with opportunities to experiment and play with different materials – pencils, pens, watercolour, collage, textiles and photography.  The workshops are playful but also profound, providing tools that you can continue to use in everyday life to create a more balanced and healthy life.

Who Are These Workshops For?
